Capitol Resources Expands into Georgia

ConnectSouth Partners with Capitol Resources

(Atlanta, GA)- Capitol Resources LLC is expanding its lobbying firm into Georgia by joining forces with
ConnectSouth. ConnectSouth is headed by Tony Simon, Clint Austin and Paul Bennecke and has established
itself over the last nine years as one of Georgia’s leading lobbying and public affairs firms. This expansion
positions Capitol Resources as one of the largest state-based lobbying firms in the country with offices in
Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Tennessee and Washington, D.C.

Capitol Resources Well Positioned for Multi-State Work

“We are excited about uniting ConnectSouth and Capitol Resources,” commented Capitol Resources
partner Henry Barbour. “There is rising demand for firms with boots on the ground for multi-state projects, so
adding Georgia really strengthens our growing team. In addition, this puts us in a stronger position to lead
public advocacy campaigns in the South.”

“We are pleased to partner with the Capitol Resources team and look forward to serving the needs of our
clients in Georgia and other states,” added ConnectSouth partner Paul Bennecke. “In addition, Capitol
Resources has a strong team in Washington, D.C. and this will give us an opportunity to assist clients’ federal
needs.”

ConnectSouth has Strong Legislative and Political Experience

Clint Austin established himself as a public policy leader at the State Capitol with his work for the
Georgia Speaker and House Republican Leadership. He started ConnectSouth in 2005 and was soon joined by
Tony Simon. Simon helped Republican efforts to grow the party to majority status in the state Senate and later
worked with House Republican leaders in passing their legislative agenda. Paul Bennecke is the third partner of
ConnectSouth and served as RGA political director. His experience reaches across all fifty states having worked
with dozens of governors and legislators and managing nearly $250 million in political and issue advocacy
campaigns.

Established in 2001 by Clare Hester, Capitol Resources LLC is a full-service, bi-partisan government
relations firm based in Jackson, MS operating in Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Tennessee
and Washington, D.C. The firm’s partners are Clare Hester, John Lundy and Henry Barbour.
